Tbilisi, Georgia – Tako Mekvabidze, the renowned Georgian fashion designer, is set to present her latest Fall/Winter Collection 2023/2024 at the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in May. Tako’s presentation is expected to be one of the highlights of the internationally recognized event where both Georgian and foreign designers present their latest collections.

The latest collection from Tako Mekvabidze is all about the transformation of a delicate young girl into an all-powerful, confident woman. According to Tako, “[in her previous collections] she was a girl before, now she is a woman.” The collection features an interesting mix of traditional light colors and a touch of glitter, which brings a festive hue to the pieces. However, the use of glitter is less frequent here compared to other collections, reflecting the mature and sophisticated style of the pieces.

This collection caters to women who exude professionalism in their business attire, yet are not afraid to let loose and have fun at social events. The main material used is biflex, which is a highly elastic and durable fabric that is transformed into different-looking material using an 11-year-old Tako’s niche technique. Other fabrics used in the collection include velvet, wool, cotton, silk blend, lycra, and denim. Accessories include glasses, gloves, and artificial fur, adding an extra touch of elegance and style.

In a departure from the norm and Tako’s traditional nod to originality, the collection features zero makeup, and the creative designer plans to include non-professional models in the presentation, emphasizing the importance of embracing natural beauty and individuality.

“I am thrilled to present my Fall/Winter Collection 2023/2024 at the Tbilisi Fashion Week. This collection is a celebration of the transformation of a girl into a powerful and confident woman, and I hope to inspire women to embrace their true selves and showcase their individuality through fashion.”
